A birth certificate is not filed away once and left. It gets pulled out for a school place, a passport application, a mortgage, a DBS check, then put back, often years apart. Each time it is handled is a small chance to crease, mark or lose the one original copy.
Held by the corners, not slid in and out
A plain paper pocket works by friction: the certificate goes in and comes out the same way every time, and that repeated motion is exactly where wear shows first on a sheet that cannot be replaced. Cutting four corner slots into the inner panel, sized to the certificate rather than to a generic A4 sheet, holds it in place without an adhesive or a staple ever touching the document itself. The certificate lifts out from its corners and drops back the same way, with nothing sliding across the printed face or wearing at the fold on every use.
A second, ordinary paper pocket can sit alongside the corner-mounted panel in the same folder, for a photocopy or a supporting document that does not need the same careful handling. The two jobs, securing the original and holding what goes with it, do not have to compete for the same space.
Personalising it without guessing at colour
A name and a date of birth are usually what goes on the cover, in foil stamping or embossing rather than flat print, so the personalisation reads by texture as well as colour. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method. Paperboard, kraft, corrugated and rigid stock are all available, chosen against how much handling the folder itself needs to survive alongside the document inside it.

A stack of pages, rather than one document, needs a folder built around pocket capacity. Will the corner mounts themselves leave marks or dents on the certificate over time?
No more than the paper would show on its own. The mounts hold the certificate by its four corners only, a small point of contact rather than the flat, close-fitting grip of an ordinary paper pocket, so there is no daily pressure sitting across the printed face. Handled normally, the corners are the one part of a sheet that already takes the most wear in any storage method, so this build does not add a new stress point.
Can it hold anything else alongside the certificate, like a photocopy or a hospital wristband?
Yes, and it does not need to be another corner-mounted panel. An ordinary glued pocket can sit next to the certificate's panel for a copy or a keepsake, since a copy can survive being slid in and out in a way the original shouldn't have to. Tell us what that is and it becomes part of the specification.
What is the minimum order for a Birth Certificate Folder?
Orders start from 100 units. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval.
Is a plain paperboard folder like this easier to recycle than a laminated one?
A plain paperboard construction, without a bonded plastic sleeve, may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally.
