Black kraft isn’t a colour applied to a box. It’s a paperboard dyed black through the material itself, with the same natural grain and texture any kraft stock carries, just darker. That’s a genuinely different construction from a black lamination sitting on top of a differently-coloured board underneath.
The colour goes all the way through
A laminated finish is a coloured film bonded onto a board that’s a different colour underneath. Score and fold that board along an edge, and the film has to stretch around the crease, which is exactly where a coating is most prone to thinning or hairline cracking and letting a paler line show through. Black kraft has nothing underneath to reveal. The dye runs through the paper fibre itself, so a fold anywhere on the box is still black kraft at the crease, not a cracked top layer over something else. This is general packaging behaviour rather than a fixed ACP figure, and how visible it ends up being still depends on the board weight and how tightly a given fold is scored.
Paperboard, kraft, corrugated and rigid stock are all available on the wider range, and this specific build sits on the kraft and paperboard end of it: a single-ply construction, lighter-duty than a fluted corrugated build. Foil stamping and embossing are the two finishes that read most clearly against a dark, textured natural stock. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method.

I will say that there were some things about our final product that we were not happy with, such as creasing of the graphics and images were not full bleed on the cover of our boxes like they were supposed to be. ACP UK was not able to fix the problems on the boxes due to our tight timeline, so we ended up with a product that were were a little less than satisfied with. They offered us a discount on our next order. I think their pricing overall was fair and competitive. We may use them on project in the future again if we are able to see an image of the boxes before they go into full production like we were told that they would do last time.

Will the black shade look exactly the same across different production runs?
Natural kraft can show some batch-to-batch variation in exactly how the black reads, more than a printed colour laid onto white board typically would. Pantone references and CMYK values help manage that, but if an exact repeat match against a previous order genuinely matters, flag it at the quote stage so the new run can be checked against what you already have.
Will printing or foil stamping show up clearly on a textured black surface?
Yes, though a foiled or embossed detail reads slightly differently against kraft's natural grain than it would against a smooth laminated surface, with a little more depth and a little less mirror-flat shine.
