“Cardboard” names a whole family of board weights and constructions, not one fixed thing, and that gap between the name and the actual spec matters twice over on a box carrying no print to tell you anything else about it.
One word covering several genuinely different boards
Two boxes both fairly called “cardboard” can hold up very differently under a stacked pallet or a rough courier run, purely because of the board weight and construction behind that one shared name. Heavier board resists crushing better under load; the right grade for any given order depends on the product going inside and its journey ahead, a choice the specification makes, never the material name alone. The same gap shows up on the recycling question too. An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative, and a genuinely blank box, carrying no print, foil or coating, sits at that simpler end by default. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally, so naming the actual build still matters more than the category name it falls under.
Two ways to get one, and what stays fixed either way
Stock decides itself: whatever is actually sitting in the warehouse on the day sets the size on offer, the quantity that can be released, and how soon it leaves. None of that can be published ahead of an actual check against the day’s holding. A custom-size run carries its own separate terms. Orders start from 100 units. Design support is free. A digital 3D mock-up is free. There are no setup fees. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free. Neither route moves faster for skipping print: the schedule above comes from the manufacturing steps a build goes through, not from whether artwork is part of the job.

Other than a few miscommunication throughout the ordering process I had a great experience with this company. They are helpful and making sure that you get what you ordered. However, most importantly the product is good quality and they made sure that it is packaged well so it doesn't get damaged during shipping. I would definitely recommend this company.

First time working with ACP UK, but surprisingly worked out well. They handled the design and I believe I got the packages under 10 days, both times, as promised. I ordered a prototype first, asked them to make changes, and all was implemented well. I've also worked with another company in parallel, that was much slower. The price here is better as well. I don't know where the team operates from but they are doing excellent job!

If I don't know the exact board weight I need, what should I tell you instead?
Describe what's going inside and roughly how it will be handled, heavy or light, stacked or carried, shipped far or moved locally. That's enough for the right board weight to be worked out from the actual job rather than guessed from the word "cardboard" alone.
Does adding a finish, like foil or spot UV, change how recyclable the box is?
Yes, genuinely. Those finishes sit on top of the board and change what the recycling stream is actually processing, so a box carrying them isn't in the same position as one left completely blank.
Can you tell me straight away whether a particular size is currently in stock?
Only by checking against the real holding at the time you ask, rather than a list, since what's in stock moves too often for anything published to stay accurate for long.
Who typically orders a cardboard box with no print at all?
A business applying its own labels afterwards, or one that just needs plain stock for internal use, storage or straightforward resale, chooses a box that arrives with nothing on it rather than paying for a print run it doesn't need.
What is the minimum order for Blank Cardboard Boxes?
Orders start from 100 units. That floor sets the smallest production run to your own dimensions. Stock works to a different question altogether, not what the smallest order can be, but how much of a given size is actually sitting on the shelf right now, so there is no comparable minimum to quote.
