An incense stick is thin, rigid and brittle along its length, and a box that gives it too much room to move is usually what actually breaks it, not rough handling.
Why the box’s own length is the real decision
Cut a box noticeably longer than the stick inside it, and that stick has space to slide end to end every time the box tips, turns or gets stacked in transit. Repeated contact against the box ends, over and over on the journey, is what snaps a stick that would otherwise have arrived intact. A box kept close to the stick’s own length removes that room before it ever becomes a problem. A die-cut insert holding several sticks apart from each other solves a different movement, stopping them knocking together sideways rather than lengthwise. Getting both right starts with the stick’s actual length and how many are travelling together, not a size picked in advance.
Beyond the length question: board, branding and the rest
Kraft, paperboard, corrugated and rigid board are all available, the choice depending mostly on how many sticks the box holds and how it will travel rather than on the length question above. Offset, digital and screen printing each suit a different run length and level of detail, so the method follows what the design and quantity actually need. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method. Finishing on the outer surface can run to a matt or gloss coating, foil stamping, or a raised, tactile panel.

When this is not the right box
Round rather than flat is a genuinely different build, one shaped around the stick’s own cross-section instead of a flat panel either side of it, and Incense Tube Packaging takes that shape as its starting point. How precisely does the box length need to match the stick?
Not to the millimetre. A small amount of clearance for the stick to go in and out is fine; the trouble starts once that gap is wide enough for the stick to travel back and forth freely rather than sit snugly in place.
Is an insert necessary if I'm only packing one stick per box?
Less critical there, since a single stick has nothing beside it to knock against sideways. Once more than one stick shares a box, an insert becomes the thing keeping them apart from each other during the journey.
What is the minimum order for Custom Incense Stick Boxes?
Orders start from 100 units. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval.
Are Custom Incense Stick Boxes recyclable?
An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally.
