A loaf isn’t round and isn’t square, and a box built around a generic cake footprint fits it badly either way. The actual shape is the starting point here, not an afterthought.
The shape sets the size, not a generic dropdown
Length matters more than width or depth on a loaf, since the whole point of the shape is one long bake rather than a wide one. Dimensions are cut to that proportion directly rather than picked from a round or square size list built for a different cake shape entirely. A window can be added where showing the loaf matters more than keeping it fully covered. Full colour printing is available too, chosen from offset, digital or screen work depending on the specification. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method. The finish, matt lamination, foil, or a plain uncoated surface, is chosen alongside it.
Ventilation matters more for a warm loaf than a cooled one
A loaf boxed while still warm keeps releasing moisture the box then has to deal with; a fully cooled, iced retail cake generally doesn’t. Die-cut vents are available specifically for that, and steam release can be discussed directly against how the loaf is actually being packed, rather than added as a default feature every box gets regardless of need. Food-contact material suitability is confirmed for the specific material before production.

Our experience with ACP UK was overall good. They were able to work with our extremely tight timeline and were very responsive and communicative. I will say that there were some things about our final product that we were not happy with, such as creasing of the graphics and images were not full bleed on the cover of our boxes like they were supposed to be. ACP UK was not able to fix the problems on the boxes due to our tight timeline, so we ended up with a product that were were a little less than satisfied with. They offered us a discount on our next order. I think their pricing overall was fair and competitive. We may use them on project in the future again if we are able to see an image of the boxes before they go into full production like we were told that they would do last time.

I was assisted by Frank. Overall I had a satisfactory experience, and in the end my boxes turned out really nice. The stock is nice, and Frank was really helpful getting them where they needed to be. The first iterations the boxes were sized wrong, but once we got it figured out and I got the art I requested some samples before moving forward. They printed off some samples, and they were great minus a slight adjustment to the perforation. They made the adjustment and got the final order out and so far I am pleased with the quality, especially for the price. The only thing that would have bumped this up to a 5 star review would have been a little bit quicker overall experience, part of which was my fault.

This is the first time I have used this company, Thomas assisted me with answering queries and the design of the personalised boxes I was after. Thomas was helpful and knowledgeable and very accommodating in changing design details, always responding quickly with a new version to review. Thomas is very eager to help make sure your packaging is right for you. Sometimes a little too eager chasing for decisions but at least you know someone is handling your enquiry and its not sitting on the bottom of a pile being ignored as I've had experience of elsewhere.
Product takes about 3 weeks to be delivered so can't comment on actual product as yet.

Does the box come with ventilation holes as standard, or do I need to ask for them?
They're not automatic, so mention it rather than assume it. A rough idea of how long the loaf sits before it's boxed is enough to work from; you don't need to give an exact temperature or time.
Can the loaf be seen without opening the box?
Yes, where a window is specified. It's not the default construction, so it's worth saying at the outset if showing the loaf matters to you.
Are Cardboard Loaf Cake Boxes recyclable?
An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. A window or a heavy lamination both work against that, so a plain, uncoated box is the easier case specifically. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally.
What is the minimum order for Cardboard Loaf Cake Boxes?
Orders start from 100 units. That figure applies separately to each design. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval.
