A printed sandwich wedge carries two kinds of information. Your brand is the same on every wedge you sell. The filling’s name, what is in it and what it costs are not. Settling which of those goes into the print and which goes on a label is most of the design decision.
How much of the wedge you can print
On a windowed wedge, the film window takes most of the sloped face, so the customer sees the cut side of the sandwich. What is left for print is the band of board above and below the window, the two triangular ends and the back. A smaller window leaves more board to work with, at the cost of showing less of the filling. Because the sloped face is the one turned towards the customer, the band below or above the window is where a logo is seen alongside the sandwich; the ends and the back show once a wedge is picked up.
Printed once, labelled per filling
Anything that is the same on every wedge belongs in the print: the logo, the brand colours, perhaps a line about where the sandwiches are made. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method. Anything that changes with the filling belongs on a label applied when the sandwich is packed: its name, the ingredients, the allergens, the price and the date. That way one printed design works for every filling, and a new filling next month needs a new label rather than a new box.
The artwork layout can reserve clear panels for the information the product is required to display. All Custom Packaging can help organise the available print space, but the brand or its regulatory adviser remains responsible for confirming the accuracy and completeness of the required product information. Food-contact material suitability is confirmed for the specific material before production.
Where the label goes
Keep the label off the window. A label stuck over the film hides the filling it is describing, which is the one thing the window is there to show. The band below the window keeps the label on the same face as the sandwich, so the two are read together. Tell us the size of the label you use and we will leave a clear panel for it in the artwork, sized to that band.
Design support is free. A digital 3D mock-up is free. There are no setup fees. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free.

The first iterations the boxes were sized wrong, but once we got it figured out and I got the art I requested some samples before moving forward. They printed off some samples, and they were great minus a slight adjustment to the perforation. They made the adjustment and got the final order out and so far I am pleased with the quality, especially for the price. The team at All Custom Packaging UK was very responsive. They were quick to respond to my emails and the turn around time on the boxes was fast! The first run of boxes did have colors slightly off and they fixed it on the second run.
The cost of the boxes was less than other suppliers. I will say the boxes are a bit on the flimsy side, not super sturdy but perfect for my needs. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Does the window make the box harder to recycle?
It is one of the factors. A window needs a film patch or a die-cut aperture, and that choice affects both cost and recyclability. Any lining or coating matters too: an unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally.
