A Long Cardboard Box built to a 1200mm length isn't just a bigger box: its proportions change how it loads and how it holds up along its own length. Orders start from 100 units.
A box this much longer than it is wide isn’t really a “big box” question. It’s a proportions question, and those proportions change two things a normal box never has to answer.
A standard carton opens from the top because the item usually goes in from above and comes roughly as wide as the box itself. At 1200mm long against a much narrower width, that assumption breaks down. The item moves in and out along the box’s own length instead, so the opening gets positioned to match that direction rather than defaulting to the top. Posters, curtain poles, tools and similar elongated items all share this same loading direction, whatever the item itself actually is.
A compact box has its own width and depth bracing it against bending, simply because there’s more board close to any point along its length. A box this elongated has far less of that bracing to rely on, so the same stretch of unsupported board carries more of the load than it would on a normally-proportioned box. Both single-wall and double-wall builds are available, with the choice following how heavy the contents are and the kind of handling the journey involves, never fixed to one wall count regardless of length.
Whichever print method suits the run, offset, digital or screen, gets picked against the specification and quantity. There are no setup fees. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method. Orders start from 100 units. A laminate finish, foil detailing, a raised or pressed panel, or a spot UV touch each get added once the brief genuinely asks for them. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. Design support is free. A digital 3D mock-up is free. UK delivery is free. Width, depth and where the opening sits all come from the item itself, never from a fixed template applied regardless of what’s going inside.
A single named instrument’s own specific risk, a wide body against a narrow neck rather than a general loading-orientation question, is answered instead by Guitar Shipping Boxes. Wanting the general “cardboard spans several board weights” question at ordinary proportions, rather than this page’s own extreme-length question, is covered by Blank Cardboard Boxes. The full Cardboard Boxes range is there for whatever doesn’t fit this particular length and shape.

Clear answers about ordering, artwork, production, materials and delivery.
Yes. This page is anchored to the 1200mm length; width and depth still get set from your own item, since a box that's the right length but the wrong cross-section doesn't solve anything. Give us all three and the rest of the specification follows from there.
Flat, as a folding carton. Keeping a 1200mm length flat until it's actually needed is a genuinely bigger space saving than it would be on a compact box, and putting it together generally doesn't call for tools.
An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally.
