A swing tag gets judged in seconds, by touch, before anyone reads what’s printed on it. That’s the easy part to get right. What actually fails in use is smaller and easy to miss. It’s the hole or attachment point, the one spot on the whole tag that takes real, repeated physical stress every time it’s picked up, turned over or hung on a rail.
The edge around the hole takes the punishment, not the whole tag
A punched hole concentrates load right at its own edge, more than the flat card around it ever has to bear. A length of string, a cord or an eyelet pulls against that same small edge again and again, whatever’s actually threaded through it. A card chosen for a nice overall weight can still tear exactly there if that specific point was never the actual design brief. Reinforcing it, or specifying board weight with that stress point in mind rather than the tag as a whole, is what actually prevents it.
Matching the attachment to how the product travels
String or cord gives a simple, low-cost hang. An eyelet adds reinforcement right where the load concentrates. Other fittings suit a more retail-display-ready presentation instead. None of these is a fixed default; what suits the job depends on what the tag actually attaches to and how much handling it sees on the way to a customer.
Finish still does the visual half of the job
Getting the attachment point right protects the tag; it doesn’t make it look expensive. A foil-stamped detail, an embossed mark, or a spot UV highlight on the print side, subject to specification, carries the visual signal a heavier board alone can’t. A logo or brand message printed on the tag itself is usually part of the same order. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method.

I was assisted by Frank. Overall I had a satisfactory experience, and in the end my boxes turned out really nice. The stock is nice, and Frank was really helpful getting them where they needed to be. The first iterations the boxes were sized wrong, but once we got it figured out and I got the art I requested some samples before moving forward. They printed off some samples, and they were great minus a slight adjustment to the perforation. They made the adjustment and got the final order out and so far I am pleased with the quality, especially for the price. The only thing that would have bumped this up to a 5 star review would have been a little bit quicker overall experience, part of which was my fault.

What is the minimum order for Luxury Swing Tags?
Orders start from 100 units. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free.
Should I choose a hole, an eyelet, or something else for attaching the tag?
That depends on what it's attaching to and how much handling it'll see. An eyelet reinforces the exact point taking the load, worth it where the tag gets picked up and turned over a lot; a plain punched hole with the right board weight can be enough where handling is lighter.
Can foil stamping or embossing sit close to the hole, or does that weaken it?
Worth flagging at the design stage rather than assuming either way. Keeping heavier finishing detail a little clear of the hole itself is usually the simpler route, and we can advise on placement once we see the artwork and know which attachment method you're using.
Are these tags recyclable?
An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally.
