Pricing
A small padded envelope is a paper envelope lined with padding, and on a small size that lining takes a real share of the room inside.
Sizing from the inside
Whatever size an envelope is quoted at, check which measurement the figure gives: inside or outside. The padding lines both inner faces, so the space left for the item is smaller than the outside measurement. A flat item such as a card or a scarf barely notices. A thicker one, a jewellery box or a jar of balm, makes the envelope bulge, and the bulge borrows from the length and width too. Measure the item, including its depth, and allow for the padding on both sides before choosing a size.
What each padding changes
The padding can be bubble, paper or foam, chosen for the specification. Bubble is a layer of small plastic air cells, foam is a thin foam lining, and paper padding is made from paper fibre. The choice changes what the finished envelope is made of. A bubble or foam lining is a second material fixed inside the paper outer, and paper padding does not add one. The full construction, adhesives and any seal strip included, still decides what can accurately be said about the envelope, so raise any claims you plan to make when you order.
Closing and print
The envelope closes with a fold-over flap, and a peel-and-seal strip can be added, so it can be packed without tape. The outer face takes your branding, printed by offset, digital or screen methods chosen for the artwork and the run. Bigger items go in Padded Envelopes, and flat items that must not bend suit Personalised Cardboard Envelopes.

Uncoated Unbleached Kraft

Our experience with ACP UK was overall good. They were able to work with our extremely tight timeline and were very responsive and communicative. I will say that there were some things about our final product that we were not happy with, such as creasing of the graphics and images were not full bleed on the cover of our boxes like they were supposed to be. ACP UK was not able to fix the problems on the boxes due to our tight timeline, so we ended up with a product that were were a little less than satisfied with. They offered us a discount on our next order. I think their pricing overall was fair and competitive. We may use them on project in the future again if we are able to see an image of the boxes before they go into full production like we were told that they would do last time.

I was assisted by Frank. Overall I had a satisfactory experience, and in the end my boxes turned out really nice. The stock is nice, and Frank was really helpful getting them where they needed to be. The first iterations the boxes were sized wrong, but once we got it figured out and I got the art I requested some samples before moving forward. They printed off some samples, and they were great minus a slight adjustment to the perforation. They made the adjustment and got the final order out and so far I am pleased with the quality, especially for the price. The only thing that would have bumped this up to a 5 star review would have been a little bit quicker overall experience, part of which was my fault.

He was patient throughout the process, as it took me a long time to get the final design ready to my liking. What is the minimum order for small padded envelopes?
Orders start from 100 units.
Are small padded envelopes recyclable?
An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. A bubble or foam lining adds a second material to the envelope. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally. We can explain the general recyclability considerations of the selected material and finishing options, so you can make accurate claims on your own packaging.
