White is a colour, not a construction, and worth separating out from the start. What a cup can actually hold, and how it manages that, comes down to which wall build and lining get picked for it, not the shade of the board underneath the print.
Single-wall, double-wall and ripple-wall are all confirmed constructions here, each built for a different job. Single-wall suits a quick cold drink or a short hot-drink visit where an outer sleeve isn’t needed. Double-wall adds an insulating air gap for a hot drink held bare-handed. Ripple-wall achieves a similar grip and insulation through a corrugated outer layer instead. A PE, PLA, aqueous or PP lining is selected to suit the drink and the specification. Hot and cold suitability, thermal performance, leak resistance and any microwavable claim depend entirely on which of these gets chosen, and are only ever stated for the specification actually ordered, not assumed from the cup being white.
A white cup works either way. Left blank, the plain surface is there for a sticker, a stamp, or nothing at all. Printed, that same bright surface is what makes full-colour branding sit cleanly and read clearly rather than fighting a tinted or textured board underneath it. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method.
