A print run carries two different cost shapes depending on how many boxes are in it, and picking the wrong one for your order size shows up on the invoice, not on the box.
Why the run size decides the print method
Offset (litho) printing sets up a physical plate for the job, a fixed cost paid once no matter how many boxes come off it afterwards. That cost spreads thinner the longer the run gets, which is why offset earns its keep on a larger order rather than a short one. Digital printing skips the plate step entirely, so there’s nothing to set up before the first box prints, which suits a shorter run or a first order well. Digital’s cost per box doesn’t fall the way offset’s does once a plate is already paid off. That’s why a genuinely long run usually ends up on offset once the quantity justifies the setup.
Colour count plays into this too. A design built from one or two flat colours is a simpler, cheaper plate job than a full-colour image, while digital handles a full-colour design without adding a plate for every colour used. The quantity and the artwork decide the method here, not a fixed assumption about which one suits every order equally.
Finish, material and the ordering basics
Board choice sits alongside the print method: this runs from standard folding carton through to kraft or a heavier rigid build, picked to suit the weight and finish the artwork calls for. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method. Finishing runs to lamination in gloss, matte or soft-touch, foil stamping, raised or recessed detailing, and spot UV.
Orders start from 100 units. Design support is free. A digital 3D mock-up is free. There are no setup fees. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free.

I will say that there were some things about our final product that we were not happy with, such as creasing of the graphics and images were not full bleed on the cover of our boxes like they were supposed to be. ACP UK was not able to fix the problems on the boxes due to our tight timeline, so we ended up with a product that were were a little less than satisfied with. They offered us a discount on our next order. I think their pricing overall was fair and competitive. We may use them on project in the future again if we are able to see an image of the boxes before they go into full production like we were told that they would do last time.

I was assisted by Frank. Overall I had a satisfactory experience, and in the end my boxes turned out really nice. The stock is nice, and Frank was really helpful getting them where they needed to be. The first iterations the boxes were sized wrong, but once we got it figured out and I got the art I requested some samples before moving forward. They printed off some samples, and they were great minus a slight adjustment to the perforation. They made the adjustment and got the final order out and so far I am pleased with the quality, especially for the price. My order is a few hundred units now, but I expect to reorder much larger later. Which method should I pick?
Specify around the quantity actually being placed, not a future one. A reorder is its own separate production run, so the print method is free to change as the order size genuinely changes, without carrying a plate cost forward from a smaller first order.
Does printing offset instead of digital add to the standard lead time?
No. The plate-making step is accounted for within the standard schedule rather than added on top of it. Standard production still takes 6 to 8 business days after approval, whichever method the run uses.
What is the minimum order for Custom Printed Cardboard Boxes?
Orders start from 100 units. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval.
Are these boxes recyclable?
An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally.
