An apparel gift is rarely just a folded garment on its own. A shirt often comes with a tie, a scarf with gloves, a jumper with a card or a small accessory tucked alongside it, and a single garment-shaped compartment doesn’t have anywhere obvious to put the second item.
Why a garment-only layout falls short
A compartment cut purely around a folded shirt or jumper gives the smaller item nowhere fixed to sit, so it ends up loose against the fold or wedged in wherever there’s spare space. A divided insert, with a main area shaped to the garment and a smaller nook for what travels alongside it, gives both pieces their own fixed position instead of one competing for room in the other’s space. Getting that layout specified up front, rather than assumed from the garment alone, is what keeps the smaller item from shifting the presentation out of place.
Where the closure and sizing questions sit instead
How the box actually opens for the gift moment, magnetic against a simple lid, is a specification question this page doesn’t repeat, since it applies to more than just apparel and is covered on Jewellery Gift Boxes. Branding sits on top of that structural choice, with a foiled logo, a debossed mark or a UV-treated highlight each available for the box’s own surface, subject to specification. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method.

I was assisted by Frank. Overall I had a satisfactory experience, and in the end my boxes turned out really nice. The stock is nice, and Frank was really helpful getting them where they needed to be. The first iterations the boxes were sized wrong, but once we got it figured out and I got the art I requested some samples before moving forward. They printed off some samples, and they were great minus a slight adjustment to the perforation. They made the adjustment and got the final order out and so far I am pleased with the quality, especially for the price. What is the minimum order for Apparel Gift Boxes?
Orders start from 100 units. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free.
Does adding a second item push the box into a bigger size, or does it usually fit the same footprint?
Often the same footprint, since a tie or a pair of gloves takes up far less room than the garment itself. What changes is the internal layout, not necessarily the outer dimensions. Confirming the accessory early avoids resizing the whole box later just to fit something small.
Can the box hold two garments of a similar size instead of a garment and an accessory?
It can, and the same principle applies: each item gets its own defined space in the insert rather than sharing one slot sized for a single piece.
Are these boxes recyclable?
An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally.
