A present bag usually carries one thing: a single gift, often heavier or more awkwardly shaped than a spread of light retail purchases. That changes what the handle actually needs to do, and it’s the part most present bag pages skip past on the way to talking about colour and print.
Two ways to build the handle, and the gift decides which
Cut the handle straight into the bag’s own board, integral and die-cut, and a lighter gift sits fine on it, the structure itself doing the carrying. Fit a separate wire handle instead and there’s now a dedicated reinforced point, the better route once the gift gets heavier or settles unevenly against one side. There’s no house default here; the gift itself makes the call, on a case-by-case basis, rather than one handle style locked in across the whole order.
Black board changes the branding decision, not just the colour
A flat printed logo that reads clearly on a lighter bag can lose definition against black board, for the same reason any dark ink loses contrast on a dark surface. Foil stamping or embossing gives a brand mark a way to read clearly and sit with a premium finish that a flat print alone doesn’t always achieve on black. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method.

I was assisted by Frank. Overall I had a satisfactory experience, and in the end my boxes turned out really nice. The stock is nice, and Frank was really helpful getting them where they needed to be. The first iterations the boxes were sized wrong, but once we got it figured out and I got the art I requested some samples before moving forward. They printed off some samples, and they were great minus a slight adjustment to the perforation. They made the adjustment and got the final order out and so far I am pleased with the quality, especially for the price. The only thing that would have bumped this up to a 5 star review would have been a little bit quicker overall experience, part of which was my fault.

What is the minimum order for Black Present Bags?
Orders start from 100 units. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free.
Can I mix handle styles across one order, or does the whole batch need to match?
You can mix them. It's common to specify a wire handle only for a bulkier line in the range and keep a die-cut handle for the rest, rather than upgrading every bag to cover the heaviest gift. Tell us which sizes need which, and we'll quote it that way.
Will my logo show up clearly if I print it in colour rather than foil?
It depends on the colour and the artwork. A light, high-contrast colour can still read against black; a darker or mid-tone colour is more likely to lose definition. Send the artwork over and we'll tell you honestly whether it needs foil to hold up, before anything goes to production.
Are these bags recyclable?
An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally.
