Printed Christmas seals for card envelopes and festive mailers. A seal that closes the envelope and one that only dresses it are different specifications, and this page starts there. Orders start from 100 units.
A Christmas envelope sticker is the last thing applied before a card or a mailer goes out, and it is the one sticker in the range whose job depends on what sits underneath it.
Most card envelopes already close on their own, with a gummed or self-seal flap. Put a festive seal on one of those and the seal is decoration with a small bonus: it shows if the flap has been lifted. Its adhesive barely has a job, so the design can be the whole point, and the sticker can be light, small and printed on whatever stock suits the look.
An envelope whose flap is tucked in or left unsealed is a different case. There the sticker is the closure. Everything the post does to the envelope, the flexing, the stacking, the pull of a thick card inside pushing the flap open, arrives at that one piece of adhesive. So the seal wants to be larger, on a stock that grips paper well, and placed so it bridges the flap and the body evenly rather than sitting mostly on one side. The envelope, then, decides the specification before any design work starts.
A seal is the only sticker that is meant to straddle a crease. Half of it lands on the flap and half on the envelope body, and the fold runs straight through the artwork. A design with a face, a word or a fine motif centred on the seal will have that centre sitting on the fold line, where the paper bends. Keep the detail that matters slightly off-centre, or use a design that reads as a whole from any angle, and the fold stops mattering.
A slight shift between the print and the cut is normal on any sticker. On a flat label that is invisible. On a small round seal with a thin printed border, the same shift shows as a border that is thicker on one side. A design without a hairline edge, or with a bleed that runs past the cut, avoids the problem entirely. The wider question of how a small round format constrains what fits inside it is worked through at 1.5 Inch Round Stickers. For a snowflake, a tree or any custom outline, Custom Die Cut Stickers covers what cuts cleanly and the peel trade-off between a die-cut and a kiss-cut sticker.
These are applied by hand, usually by whoever is stuffing the envelopes, in the last two or three weeks before Christmas. So the quantity to order is the number of envelopes going out, plus a margin for the ones that get creased or stuck crooked. And the order has to be printed, finished and delivered before the sealing day, which makes that day the date to give us.
Offset, digital and screen printing are available, selected to suit the design and the quantity. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method. Foiling suits a seal well because the area is small and a foil edge reads as a wax seal would; embossing and debossing are available where the stock carries them.
Orders start from 100 units. Design support is free. A digital 3D mock-up is free. There are no setup fees. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free.
If the envelope itself is the thing you want branded, Custom Printed Envelopes is the page for that, and a seal can then be plain or omitted. A gift going into a box rather than an envelope is usually better served by Christmas Tissue Paper inside it than by a seal on the outside. The rest of the sticker range is at Stickers And Labels.

Orders start from 100 units. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval.
Cardstock for clean full-colour print on a white or coloured envelope. Kraft where the envelope is kraft and the seal should read as part of it, or where a brown seal on a white envelope is the contrast you want. Textured stock where the seal is going to carry foil and should feel like a wax seal under the finger.
Work back from the day the envelopes are being sealed. Allow the 6 to 8 business days of production that run after approval, the delivery after that, and the time you need on your side before giving that approval. Give us the sealing day and we confirm the latest approval date against it.
An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. A seal is small, but it goes wherever the envelope goes, so the stock chosen for it decides the answer. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally.
