A t-shirt and a folded hoodie don’t put the same strain on a mailer, so treating every garment as if it needed identical protection gets the specification wrong in one direction or the other.
The garment’s weight is the actual specification, not a marketing claim
Film gauge should be set by what’s being shipped, and that’s precisely the point a blanket “puncture-proof” promise glosses over. One supplier manages to publish exactly that promise on the same page as a chart tying thickness to clothing type, effectively conceding in its own specification table what its own headline claim denies. Confirming the fill weight and how many garments are travelling together, before the gauge gets fixed, is what actually protects the shipment; a number chosen without that context is a guess dressed up as a standard.
The closure and finish stay consistent across weights
Whichever gauge suits the order, the bag closes with a self-seal adhesive strip rather than tape or heat-sealing equipment. Choosing an opaque or coloured film hides the garment from view during transit, where a clear film leaves it visible, and which matters depends on the brand. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method.

I was assisted by Frank. Overall I had a satisfactory experience, and in the end my boxes turned out really nice. The stock is nice, and Frank was really helpful getting them where they needed to be. The first iterations the boxes were sized wrong, but once we got it figured out and I got the art I requested some samples before moving forward. They printed off some samples, and they were great minus a slight adjustment to the perforation. They made the adjustment and got the final order out and so far I am pleased with the quality, especially for the price. The only thing that would have bumped this up to a 5 star review would have been a little bit quicker overall experience, part of which was my fault.

Do I need to know the exact garment weight before getting a quote, or can that come later?
It's useful upfront but not essential to start with. An estimate of what's typically going in (say, mixed tops versus outerwear) is enough for a first quote, and the gauge can be locked in once samples or exact weights are confirmed ahead of production.
Can several garments go in one mailer, or does each item need its own?
Several items can share a mailer where the size and gauge are specified for that combined weight. Give us a sense of the piece count and garment mix upfront so the bag isn't left undersized for the load.
Are clothing poly mailers recyclable?
An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. That measure describes board, though, and a mailer has none in it: it's a plastic film from front to back. Ordinary household bins generally aren't equipped for soft plastic, so a specialist collection bank, commonly found at larger grocery stores, is the more realistic destination; putting one in with household paper or card risks contaminating that load. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally.
