A standard poly mailer is made from polyethylene film, which is thin and flexible by design, fine for a single trip from a warehouse to a doorstep. Polypropylene, the other material available for this bag, carries noticeably more body and stiffness as a plastic in its own right, which is the actual reason this product can genuinely be sturdier rather than just claiming to be.
Where that extra body actually matters
A bag that holds its own shape stands up to being set down on a counter, stacked with other parcels, or handled a second time if a garment gets returned and reshipped. A fully flexible film simply goes limp in each of those situations. That makes a PP-based build worth specifying for a returns-heavy operation, a subscription box that gets reused, or any apparel line where the bag itself needs to look presentable rather than purely functional. A lighter, flexible PE mailer still suits a straightforward one-way shipment where cost and minimal material matter more than the bag holding its shape afterward.
Printing follows the same process across the wider poly mailer range. All three methods, offset, digital and screen, apply, selected to suit the specification and quantity. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method. The whole case for a PP-based build rests on the bag looking presentable rather than purely functional. That presentable version is usually a bag with a logo or design actually printed on it, not a stiffer plain film standing in for one.

I will say that there were some things about our final product that we were not happy with, such as creasing of the graphics and images were not full bleed on the cover of our boxes like they were supposed to be. ACP UK was not able to fix the problems on the boxes due to our tight timeline, so we ended up with a product that were were a little less than satisfied with. They offered us a discount on our next order. I think their pricing overall was fair and competitive. The first iterations the boxes were sized wrong, but once we got it figured out and I got the art I requested some samples before moving forward. They printed off some samples, and they were great minus a slight adjustment to the perforation. They made the adjustment and got the final order out and so far I am pleased with the quality, especially for the price. Does the bag close the same way as a standard poly mailer?
Yes. A peel-and-stick strip seals it shut, the same mechanism used across the poly mailer range, so the heavier material doesn't change how the bag gets packed.
Is a stiffer bag heavier to ship than a standard poly mailer?
Marginally, since more material sits in the wall of the bag, though the difference is small enough that it rarely changes a shipping band on its own. Worth raising when you request your quote if postage cost is being calculated to a tight margin.
Are Apparel Shipping Bags recyclable?
An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. Nothing here is board: PE and PP are both plastics from edge to edge, with no paper content anywhere in the build. Look for a specialist plastic-film collection point instead of a household paper or card bin. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally.
