An iMac isn’t evenly heavy across its own footprint, and a box that treats it as one uniform shape misses the part that actually needs the support.
Why the base and the screen need two different answers
Nearly all of a 27-inch iMac’s weight sits in its base and stand assembly. The large flat glass screen above it carries almost none of that weight, but it’s the part most easily marked or cracked by direct contact. Foam or a die-cut insert positioned to bear the item at its base gives the actual weight somewhere solid to rest, rather than floating the whole unit on a layer that can compress unevenly under repeated handling. A separate edge or corner support keeps the screen’s own face clear of contact entirely, a distinct role from carrying weight and one it doesn’t need to share. Treating both as one generic foam bundle, the way this product is often sold, misses that one support is structural and the other is about clearance, not load.
Rigid or double-wall corrugated construction are both available, chosen around how the item will actually travel. What this specification doesn’t do is guarantee the item against a hard drop or a crushing weight stacked on top. It manages the item’s own weight and keeps normal handling contact off the screen, which is different from surviving abuse the packaging was never built for.
Branding and the ordering basics
Offset, digital and screen printing are all available, suited to handling labels, branding or a resale reference number. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method. A resale or refurbisher brand that wants to go further can specify foiling, an embossed panel or a spot-UV accent, added at whichever point on the box the design calls for it.

When this is not the right box
A laptop’s closed clamshell shape and hinge carry a genuinely different weight and fragility profile from an iMac’s flat panel and stand, and Laptop Shipping Box is the closer fit for that case. What is the minimum order for a 27 Inch iMac Shipping Box?
Orders start from 100 units. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval.
Does the same insert work for both the 24-inch and 27-inch iMac?
