“Blank” gets read as “nothing on it at all,” and on a match box that’s not quite true. There’s a real box doing a real job underneath, whatever the print decision turns out to be.
The sleeve loses its print; the striker was never yours to lose
A match box is two pieces: an outer sleeve, closed on one end, and an inner tray you pull free to reach what’s inside. Going blank takes the print, the logo and the label off that sleeve, and nothing else changes about the box itself. A striker strip gets mentioned in the same breath by some sellers, as if it were just another finishing option, but it was never part of what a packaging supplier hands over in the first place. ACP builds, and where ordered prints, the sleeve and tray; the striker material and any safety-match standard the finished product is held to are added afterward by whoever fills and finishes the matches. That holds no matter which print status the sleeve carries, and it’s worth being plain about rather than left to assumption.
Why the fit matters more at this size
This sleeve-and-tray idea isn’t unique to a match box. A jewellery or gift drawer box uses the same basic two-piece format at a much larger scale, where a slightly loose or tight fit barely registers against the size of the whole piece. A match box works at a genuinely small scale instead, so that same small margin of error takes up far more of the finished piece proportionally. Both routes below specify that fit tightly, no matter if this particular order ends up blank or, on a different product, printed.
Two routes to the same unprinted box
Existing stock is whatever is actually sitting ready to go: its size, quantity and timing get confirmed only once asked about, not published ahead of a real check. A custom-size order runs to a fixed set of terms instead. Orders start from 100 units. Design support is free. A digital 3D mock-up is free. There are no setup fees. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free. Neither route changes the striker question above: that piece sits with whoever fills the matches either way.
When this is not the right box

Does the match box arrive assembled, or do I need to fit the sleeve and tray together myself?
It arrives assembled, sleeve and tray together as one finished unit. Whoever fills the matches afterward adds the striker and anything else the finished product needs; nothing further is required on the packaging side.
Can the tray be sized for a different match count or a longer stick than standard?
On a custom order, yes; tray depth and sleeve length are set to match the actual match count and stick length involved, not held to one fixed standard size. Existing stock, by contrast, is limited to whatever size is currently held.
Are Blank Match Boxes recyclable?
An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally.
What is the minimum order for Blank Match Boxes?
A custom-size run starts from 100 units. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. Existing stock carries no comparable figure, since it's a quantity already sitting ready rather than a production run being commissioned.
