Different Shape Boxes already covers the general reason to choose a shape like this at all. A tree shape brings its own specific consequence worth naming honestly.
The taper changes how it stacks and travels
A tree shape’s own base is wide and sits flat without needing a stand or a cradle insert, unlike a shape with nothing flat to rest on. What it does bring is several narrow points running up through the branches to a single tip, and each of those points is a place that can bend or get crushed if something presses on it directly. Stacking is where this shows up most. The narrow top of one box has nothing flat to rest against under the wide base of the box above it. A stack of these boxes behaves differently from a stack of straight-sided ones and needs handling with that difference in mind.
Flat or built up, and what that solves
Because the points are the vulnerable part, how the box arrives matters. Supplied flat for assembly on-site keeps every point tucked into the cut sheet until the box is actually built, rather than exposed in transit. Supplied pre-assembled is available too, better suited to a shorter distance or a controlled handling chain where the finished shape matters from the moment it arrives. Neither is automatically right; it depends on how far the boxes are travelling and who is assembling them.
The taper’s real cost, stated honestly
Cutting a shape that narrows from a wide base to a point uses less of the sheet than a straight-sided box of the same footprint, since the tapered sides leave real board outside the shape itself. That waste is a genuine cost consequence of the silhouette, not a defect, and it’s worth knowing rather than discovering only once a quote comes back higher than a plain box of a similar size.
This box can be printed offset, digital or screen. Which method suits best is a specification decision, agreed with you once the order details are set. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method. A festive detail can be lifted with foiling, embossing, debossing or a metallic paper.

The first iterations the boxes were sized wrong, but once we got it figured out and I got the art I requested some samples before moving forward. They printed off some samples, and they were great minus a slight adjustment to the perforation. They made the adjustment and got the final order out and so far I am pleased with the quality, especially for the price. The only thing that would have bumped this up to a 5 star review would have been a little bit quicker overall experience, part of which was my fault.

What is the minimum order for Christmas Tree Shaped Gift Boxes?
Orders start from 100 units. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval.
Will the branch points get damaged if the boxes are stacked?
Not if the stacking accounts for the shape. Stacked carelessly, the narrow top of one box pressing against the wide base of another is where damage happens. Flagging the handling and transport route in advance lets that get planned for rather than found out the hard way.
Should I choose flat-packed or pre-assembled?
Flat-packed keeps every point protected inside the cut sheet until assembly, better suited to a longer journey or several handling stages. Pre-assembled suits a shorter, controlled route where arriving already built matters more. If it's not obvious which fits, saying so at the quotation stage lets it get settled against the actual journey rather than guessed at now.
Why does a tree shape cost more than a similar-sized plain box?
Mostly the board itself. A tapering shape leaves genuine waste around the cut sheet that a straight-sided box doesn't. That difference is shown as part of the itemised quote rather than folded into one figure, so it is visible before committing, and a straight-sided box remains the simpler option if minimising it matters more than the shape.
Are Christmas Tree Shaped Gift Boxes recyclable?
An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. The tree shape itself makes no difference here; only the board and finish chosen do. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally.
