A single logo on the lid is a “printed kraft box.” So is a full wraparound pattern covering every face. Only one of those two leaves the material doing any of the talking.
How much brown to cover
Kraft is usually picked for its own colour before anything gets printed on it. Ink covers that colour wherever it lands. A small logo leaves most of the board’s natural brown doing the branding work. A full-bleed design across every panel replaces that brown with a printed surface, one that only happens to show board colour at its untouched edges. Neither choice is wrong by itself. The question worth settling before artwork goes to production is how much of the original brown should still show once the print is finished, not simply how many colours the design uses.
Getting a colour to read true against the brown
Offset, digital and screen printing print directly onto the kraft surface, so any ink sits on top of the same warm brown the board already carries. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method. Where one small area needs to read as a precise, accurate colour, a white base can be printed underneath that patch first. The colour printed on top then sits closer to how it would look on genuinely white board. Specify this only where that one area’s accuracy genuinely matters. A design already working comfortably with the kraft tone doesn’t need it at all.
Finish and the numbers that don’t change
Matt and gloss lamination, foil stamping, embossing, debossing and spot UV are all available. Each one catches the light differently against a brown base than against white, so seeing the effect in the mock-up first is worth more than assuming it. Orders start from 100 units. Design support is free. A digital 3D mock-up is free. There are no setup fees. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free.
Where a different box answers the question better
A design that needs bright, precise colour holding across most of its surface, with nothing underneath it to adjust for, is more straightforwardly built on white board, covered on White Product Boxes. He worked well with my graphic designer to get us a gorgeous luxury packaging product for our premium fudge product. Whenever there was an issue, he was there to walk through it with us and ensure it resolved. ETAs were not consistent but when multiple parties are involved in getting the packaging to us I suppose some delays are bound to occur.

What is the minimum order for Custom Printed Kraft Boxes?
Orders start from 100 units. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval.
Can one panel carry a full design while the rest of the box stays plain kraft?
Yes. Coverage is a layout decision set out in the artwork, not a fixed template. A lid or front panel can carry a full pattern while the remaining faces stay unprinted, provided it is specified before the dieline is finalised.
Does a white underprint patch change how the box recycles?
The underprint is a thin layer of ink rather than a laminate or a plastic film, so it does not sit in the same category as a coating that changes the recycling picture on its own. An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally.
How is colour checked before the full order goes to print?
A digital 3D mock-up is free. It shows the artwork against the actual kraft tone before bulk production starts, which is the point to catch a colour reading differently than expected.
Does a full-coverage design need more design support than a single logo?
No. Design support is free. A single logo and a full wraparound pattern get the same free help preparing the artwork to the dieline, so the coverage decision changes the printed result rather than what support is included along the way.
