A subscription box is not really one order. It’s a series of them, shipped on a schedule, and the packaging question that raises isn’t the same one a single custom box order answers. A reorder that comes back a shade off, or a dieline that has to be redrawn from scratch because nobody kept the original file, undoes exactly the presentation build-up a subscriber has come to expect from cycle to cycle.
Built around the reorder, not just the first run
Your specification, dieline and artwork are kept on record between cycles, ready to print against again rather than rebuild from a blank page every time a new run falls due. That covers the structure and the base print files. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method. Cycle-to-cycle consistency is real on that basis, but it is never described as pixel-perfect.
Board, print and finish, held to the same specification each time
Paperboard, kraft, corrugated and rigid stock are all available, and the standard carton and mailer-style structures used across e-commerce packaging generally, tuck-end, auto-lock bottom and mailer builds among them, apply here too. Offset, digital and screen printing all suit different quantities and specifications. Matt and gloss lamination, foil stamping, embossing, debossing and spot UV are available finishes. An insert or divider can be added to hold multiple items in place inside the box. Design support is free. A digital 3D mock-up is free. There are no setup fees. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free.

Our experience with ACP UK was overall good. They were able to work with our extremely tight timeline and were very responsive and communicative. I will say that there were some things about our final product that we were not happy with, such as creasing of the graphics and images were not full bleed on the cover of our boxes like they were supposed to be. ACP UK was not able to fix the problems on the boxes due to our tight timeline, so we ended up with a product that were were a little less than satisfied with. They offered us a discount on our next order. I think their pricing overall was fair and competitive. We may use them on project in the future again if we are able to see an image of the boxes before they go into full production like we were told that they would do last time.

Thomas has been a delight to work with from start to finish, responding to my many questions and requests. He worked well with my graphic designer to get us a gorgeous luxury packaging product for our premium fudge product. Whenever there was an issue, he was there to walk through it with us and ensure it resolved. ETAs were not consistent but when multiple parties are involved in getting the packaging to us I suppose some delays are bound to occur.

Does the design have to stay exactly the same every single cycle, or can I refresh it partway through a run?
A mid-run design refresh doesn't force the whole specification back to zero. The retained dieline and base structure carry over, and only the parts you're actually changing, artwork, colourway or a seasonal detail, get respecified against it. Tell us what's changing and what should stay as-is.
I only need a small top-up between full cycles. Does that still need the full minimum order?
Orders start from 100 units. The figure is counted per design, and a top-up run counts as an order against your existing design too, so it's held to the same minimum a full cycle's order would be. If the top-up also changes anything about the design itself, that's treated as its own specification.
What is the minimum order for Product Subscription Boxes?
Orders start from 100 units. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval.
Are these boxes recyclable?
An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally.
