A biscuit box has one job a lot of packaging does not: keeping something brittle in one piece. Biscuits stacked loose in a box knock against each other every time the box is tilted or dropped a few inches onto a shelf, and that is usually where the cracked corners and crumbs come from, not from the delivery itself.

Why biscuits crack in transit, and what actually stops it

A plain digestive survives most handling. An iced, layered or shortbread-style biscuit does not, because the decoration or the crumb structure is the weak point, not the biscuit’s edge. A tray or divider insert that holds each biscuit in a fixed position reduces the knocking that causes this, since the biscuit is no longer free to slide against its neighbours. Loose stacking in a plain box does not offer that support, whatever the box is printed with on the outside.

Keeping biscuits from going soft

Biscuits absorb moisture from the air and lose their snap over time. A tuck-end carton that closes fully slows this down compared with an open tray, but it is not an airtight seal, and a printed outer carton on its own will not match a resealable pouch for long-term freshness. Where biscuits need to stay crisp for weeks rather than days, an inner liner or a wrapped format alongside the printed box is the safer combination.

Box styles for biscuits

A tuck-end carton is the most common choice, since it closes fully and stacks well on a shelf. A window box lets the biscuits be seen before purchase, which suits retail more than wholesale. How your order is made

Production is assigned according to the box structure, materials, quantity and finishing requirements agreed for the order.

  1. Quote. Tell us the biscuit type, whether it is stacked or individually wrapped, and the quantity.
  2. Design. Your logo and branding are set onto the dieline, and a digital 3D mock-up is provided before bulk production.
  3. Approval. Every order is approved before bulk production. Depending on the order, approval may be based on a digital 3D mock-up or a physical production sample. Sample cost and timing depend on the specification and are confirmed up front.
  4. Print and finish. Colour is checked against your brand references. Where a tray or divider is specified, fit is checked against the stated biscuit size.
  5. Check and dispatch. Boxes are checked before packing.

Are biscuit boxes recyclable?

An unlaminated kraft or paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. A plastic window or a foil finish will change that, so recyclability depends on the full make-up of the box you choose.
