A window only works if the box is sized around what is actually inside it. Get the dimensions wrong and either the product presses against the film or sits lost in too much empty space, and the window ends up working against the presentation instead of for it.
Sizing around the finished product, not the baking tray
The measurement that matters is the finished, decorated item: icing height, any topper, the cake board underneath if there is one. A box sized from the raw baking tray routinely comes back too shallow once icing and decoration are added. Tell us the finished dimensions and we size the box and window to match.
Where the window actually goes
A die-cut window has to sit somewhere that does not weaken the parts of the box doing the structural work, such as the base and the corners carrying the product’s weight. That is a placement decision, not just a size decision, and it is worth discussing at quote stage if the product is heavier than a typical pastry or biscuit.
Food-contact suitability and where the responsibility sits
Board and coating can be selected to suit direct or indirect food contact depending on the specification. Food-contact material suitability is confirmed for the specific material before production. Allergen and nutritional labelling stays your business’s responsibility.
When this is not the right box
If the product does not benefit from being seen before purchase, or if it needs to stay fully protected from light, a solid printed carton without a window is usually the simpler and more protective choice. A window earns its place specifically when visibility is part of the sale.
Design support is free. A digital 3D mock-up is free before bulk production, so you can check window placement and size against your actual product before committing to a run. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free. There are no setup fees.
Are white bakery boxes with a window recyclable?
An unlaminated or lightly coated board may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. The window film itself is a separate material to the board, so final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally. Our experience with ACP UK was overall good. They were able to work with our extremely tight timeline and were very responsive and communicative. I will say that there were some things about our final product that we were not happy with, such as creasing of the graphics and images were not full bleed on the cover of our boxes like they were supposed to be. ACP UK was not able to fix the problems on the boxes due to our tight timeline, so we ended up with a product that were were a little less than satisfied with. They offered us a discount on our next order. I think their pricing overall was fair and competitive. We may use them on project in the future again if we are able to see an image of the boxes before they go into full production like we were told that they would do last time.

Should the box be sized from my baking tray or the finished product?
The finished, decorated product. Icing, toppers and any cake board add height and width that the raw tray size does not account for, and a box sized from the tray alone often comes back too shallow.
Can the window be any shape or size?
It can be shaped to the specification, but placement has to avoid the parts of the box doing the structural work, such as the base and load-bearing corners, especially for a heavier product.
Will the window keep the product fresh?
The window itself does not add or remove freshness protection. The board and any coating around it does that work, so tell us what you are packing and we can advise on the right combination.
Is a window always the right choice?
Not always. Where visibility is not part of the sale, or the product needs to stay out of light, a solid carton without a window is usually simpler and more protective.
What is the minimum order for white bakery boxes with a window?
Orders start from 100 units. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free.
