Chips are classically served from a scoop or a cone, open at the top and quick to fill. That’s the shape most people picture first, and it’s worth saying plainly: a scoop or cone isn’t a confirmed standard structure in ACP’s own range. What is confirmed is a carton, tuck-end or auto-lock, that does a similar job, quick to fill and quick to grab, open enough with a window cut into the lid or side to show the fries are fresh before the customer opens it.
Scoop or cone: a genuine quote-stage question, not an assumption
If a scoop or a cone is specifically what you need, say so when you get a quote. It isn’t something to assume is available by default just because it’s a common shape for fries elsewhere. A window-cut carton is the confirmed alternative, and for a lot of takeaway counters it does the same job: fast to fill, fast to hand over, with the fries visible through the cut before the lid is even lifted.
Individual portion or a sharing order
A single portion suits a smaller, snug carton sized around one serving. Loaded fries or a sharing order needs more depth and a wider base, so the toppings and the fries underneath both have room rather than being pressed flat under a lid sized for a plain portion. Tell us which you’re packing, plain, loaded, or a sharing size, and the box gets specified around that.
Grease resistance, and the vinegar question
The fries sit in direct contact with the board, the same as any hot food carton. Food-contact material suitability is confirmed for the specific material before production. Grease resistance works the same way it does on any fried takeaway item beyond that: it depends on the coating specified, not the board’s colour or thickness alone. White Takeaway Boxes covers that mechanism in full depth, since it applies whichever food is inside. Chips are often finished with vinegar or a wet sauce on top, and that’s worth mentioning at quote stage too: a coating chosen for grease alone isn’t automatically tested against every condiment a customer might add after the box leaves the counter.
Design support is free. A digital 3D mock-up is free. Window placement, finish and a sharing box’s proportions are all easier to judge from the mock-up than from a flat drawing. Orders start from 100 units. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free. There are no setup fees.
A window needs either a film patch or a die-cut aperture, and that choice affects how easily the carton is recycled afterward: a die-cut aperture with no film keeps the whole box in one recyclable material, while a film patch usually needs separating first. Grease-marked board carries the same local-facility caveat as any fried food carton: check with your local facility before assuming heavily soiled board goes in with the rest of the paper stream.

Can I get a scoop or cone shape?
cone is what you're picturing, raise it directly when you request a quote. It isn't included by default. A window-cut carton is the confirmed alternative, and does a similar job of showing the fries are fresh.
What's the difference between a standard and a sharing box?
Depth and base width, mainly. A sharing or loaded-fries order needs more of both, so the toppings and the fries underneath aren't pressed flat. Tell us roughly how many portions per box and we can size it properly.
Will the box keep grease from coming through?
The coating specified is what determines that, not the board itself. White Takeaway Boxes sets out the full mechanism.
Does the coating handle vinegar or sauce as well as grease?
No, not by default. A coating chosen for grease resistance isn't necessarily tested against every condiment a customer might add, so mention vinegar or a wet sauce topping at quote stage if that's how the fries are usually served.
What is the minimum order for french fries boxes?
Orders start from 100 units. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free.
