Most of the food boxes on this site are built to be opened within hours: a takeaway box, a wedding favour, a one-off gift. A pasta packaging box has a longer job, weeks on a shop or online shelf, holding dry pasta, spaghetti, penne, fusilli, macaroni and the rest, right next to several near-identical competitors doing the same thing.
Weeks on a shelf, not hours in a bag
Dry pasta’s own shelf life is measured in months, not days, so the pressure sits on the box rather than the food inside it: standing up to weeks of stacking, handling and being picked up and put back by shoppers, while still looking sharp enough to be chosen over the pack sitting right next to it. A tuck-end or auto-lock carton is the standard structure for that kind of repeated handling, built for exactly this sort of retail shelf, rather than the two-piece or magnetic-closure formats made for a slower-moving luxury item. Board weight and construction get specified around how the box will actually be handled and how long it needs to hold its shape. That’s a different brief to keeping something wet or hot contained the way a takeaway box does.
What a window actually costs you
A die-cut window lets the pasta sell itself, which matters when a shopper is comparing several similar-looking boxes on the same shelf. That comes with a real trade-off: the opening needs either a film patch or a genuinely open die-cut aperture, and that choice affects both the cost and how the finished box recycles. Plain kraft or recycled board stops being accurately described as plastic-free the moment a film window is added, so that claim needs checking against the full specification, not just the board underneath it. A printed sleeve over a plain, window-free box is worth knowing about as the alternative, since it shifts the branding onto a separate, easily recycled layer instead.
Making room for what pasta has to say
Loose dry pasta typically sits in direct contact with the board or window film, so the material itself needs to suit that contact as well as the branding. Food-contact material suitability is confirmed for the specific material before production. Pasta sold at retail also usually needs to carry ingredients, allergen information (wheat, and egg for egg pasta) and nutritional details somewhere on the pack. The artwork layout can reserve clear panels for that information alongside the branding. Confirming the wording itself is accurate and complete stays with your business or your regulatory adviser, not something a box design settles on its own.

Orders start from 100 units. Design support is free. That covers adapting your artwork to the box dimensions and dieline. A digital 3D mock-up is free. It shows the window placement and print before anything goes to production. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free. There are no setup fees. An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. Kraft and other uncoated boards tend to sit further toward the easier-to-recycle end than a heavily laminated or foil-finished box, though a film window pulls back the other way regardless of what the rest of the box is made from.

I was assisted by Frank. Overall I had a satisfactory experience, and in the end my boxes turned out really nice. The stock is nice, and Frank was really helpful getting them where they needed to be. The first iterations the boxes were sized wrong, but once we got it figured out and I got the art I requested some samples before moving forward. They printed off some samples, and they were great minus a slight adjustment to the perforation. They made the adjustment and got the final order out and so far I am pleased with the quality, especially for the price. The only thing that would have bumped this up to a 5 star review would have been a little bit quicker overall experience, part of which was my fault.

Our experience with ACP UK was overall good. They were able to work with our extremely tight timeline and were very responsive and communicative. I will say that there were some things about our final product that we were not happy with, such as creasing of the graphics and images were not full bleed on the cover of our boxes like they were supposed to be. ACP UK was not able to fix the problems on the boxes due to our tight timeline, so we ended up with a product that were were a little less than satisfied with. They offered us a discount on our next order. I think their pricing overall was fair and competitive. We may use them on project in the future again if we are able to see an image of the boxes before they go into full production like we were told that they would do last time.

I finally received my order about a month and a half later. Poor communication from the company and I never received shipping confirmation or tracking info until I asked for it. This was from my first experience, however I have now ordered from them 3-4 times and it's been great since then.

This is the first time I have used this company, Thomas assisted me with answering queries and the design of the personalised boxes I was after. Thomas was helpful and knowledgeable and very accommodating in changing design details, always responding quickly with a new version to review. Thomas is very eager to help make sure your packaging is right for you. Sometimes a little too eager chasing for decisions but at least you know someone is handling your enquiry and its not sitting on the bottom of a pile being ignored as I've had experience of elsewhere.
Product takes about 3 weeks to be delivered so can't comment on actual product as yet.

Is this the right box for fresh pasta, not dried?
Probably not without a separate conversation. This page is built around dry, shelf-stable pasta. Fresh or refrigerated pasta usually needs a different material and seal, which isn't confirmed as standard here.
Does adding a window make the box less recyclable?
Somewhat, and it depends on what covers the opening. But recycling isn't the only reason most window boxes use a film patch rather than a genuinely open aperture: loose dry pasta sitting behind an uncovered cut-out is exposed to dust, handling and pests on an open shelf, which is usually reason enough on its own. Ask us which option actually suits your specification.
Can allergen and nutritional information be printed on the box?
Yes. The dieline can be laid out with space for that information reserved before the artwork is finalised, so it doesn't get squeezed in as an afterthought once the branding is already set. The wording itself, and whether it meets the relevant food-labelling rules, is confirmed on your side or your regulatory adviser's.
What is the minimum order for pasta packaging boxes?
Orders start from 100 units. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free.
Kraft or a coated board, which suits pasta better?
Kraft reads as more natural and eco-positioned but mutes printed colour, especially pale tones. A coated board holds brighter colour and a crisper window edge. Which one earns its place depends on how much the design leans on colour versus a plainer look.
