Custom kraft paper food boxes in natural brown, white or clay-coated variants, printed to your brand. Orders start from 100 units.
Kraft is simply paper that hasn’t been bleached white: a natural brown tone comes from the pulp itself, not a dye. That’s the whole source of both its appeal and the one real limitation worth knowing before you print on it.
A brown base absorbs and mutes printed colour, especially pale tones; a soft pastel that looks crisp on white board can read muddy on plain kraft. Uncoated paper also soaks up more ink than a coated surface, so colours generally sit softer across the board, pale or not. Neither of these is a flaw exactly. It’s simply how the material behaves, and it’s worth knowing before artwork gets finalised, since a proof that comes back looking different from what was expected is a frustrating, avoidable surprise.
Clay-coated kraft solves the specific problem above: a smooth, printable clay-coated face on one side, with the natural kraft texture kept on the reverse. You get accurate, vivid colour where it’s printed and the recognisable kraft character everywhere else. Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method. Plain uncoated kraft, front and back, suits a brand that wants the fully natural look and is designing around it rather than against it.
Plain kraft on its own doesn’t resist grease or moisture particularly well. A grease-resistant coating is the right call for fries or pastries especially, or anything else oily that would otherwise leave a visible mark or soften the board. Kraft doesn’t insulate against heat or cold either way; if temperature retention actually matters for what you’re packing, that’s a different specification question worth raising directly, not something the material itself solves.
Board and coating can be selected to suit direct or indirect food contact depending on the specification. Food-contact material suitability is confirmed for the specific material before production. Allergen and nutritional labelling stays your business’s responsibility.
Orders start from 100 units. Design support is free. It covers how your artwork actually reads against the kraft base before anything is committed to print. A digital 3D mock-up is free. It’s the clearest way to see real colour behaviour on the real material rather than guessing from a screen. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free. There are no setup fees. An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. Plain kraft, uncoated and undyed, sits about as close to that easier-to-process baseline as this project’s range gets. A grease-resistant coating adds a layer worth asking about specifically if the recycling question matters to your order.
A specific open-tray hot dog shape needs Kraft Hot Dog Tray, not this page. The rigid-versus-folding-carton material decision, separate from kraft’s own look, is Rigid Food Packaging‘s territory. Custom Food Boxes holds everything else.

Clear answers about ordering, artwork, production, materials and delivery.
Bold, saturated colours generally hold up well. Pale or pastel tones can read muddier against the brown base, so it's worth proofing those specifically, or choosing clay-coated kraft if colour accuracy matters more than the fully natural look.
Plain, uncoated kraft is genuinely closer to the easiest-to-recycle end of this project's range than a heavily laminated alternative, since there's no laminate to strip out. Adding a coating for grease resistance changes that slightly, worth asking about if it's a deciding factor.
Not really, no. The material itself has no meaningful insulating property either way. If temperature retention matters for your order, say so directly and we can talk through what actually addresses it, since kraft alone isn't it.

Not quite; this page is about the kraft material itself. Kraft Hot Dog Tray covers that specific open-tray format if that's what you actually need.
