Custom printed cardboard ice cream boxes, specified around where the carton actually sits in the pack and what it is in contact with. Orders start from 100 units.
An ice cream box is usually the outside of the package. The ice cream sits in a tub, a wrapper or a cone, and the carton goes around that.
Two arrangements get sold under the same name. In one, the carton is the outer layer and the food is inside its own container. In the other, the carton is the container and the food touches the board.
They are different products. The first needs to hold a shape, carry print and take handling. The second needs a barrier between board and food, and the specification changes accordingly.
Nobody selling this product tends to say which one they mean, and it is the first thing worth settling, because everything after it depends on the answer.
Very little, honestly. Insulation, melt rate and how board behaves under condensation all sit outside what has been tested. No figure and no promise is put against any of them here.
That is worth carrying into a comparison. The claims made for these boxes run from insulation to melting prevention to nothing at all, and none of them arrives with evidence attached.
Carrying the brand, holding the parts where they were put, and surviving the handling between packing and the customer.
The construction is a folding carton, with two base closures available: the tuck end and the auto-lock.
A window is available as well, and on this product it is the option worth a second thought. A window needs a film patch or a die-cut aperture, and that choice affects both cost and recyclability. How one behaves in a freezer is not something this page can speak to, so it is worth trialling before a run is committed.
Print and finishing are available across the usual range, including matt and gloss lamination, foil stamping, embossing, debossing and spot UV, available depending on the specification.
Pantone references and CMYK values can be used to manage colour consistency, subject to normal variation caused by the chosen board, ink, coating and production method.
Food-contact material suitability is confirmed for the specific material before production.
Which of the two arrangements you are ordering changes what that confirmation has to cover, so the specification has to settle it first. Where the food would touch the board, a barrier becomes part of that specification. Nothing about barrier performance is confirmed on these boards, so it is a conversation to have early.
The artwork layout can reserve clear panels for the information the product is required to display. All Custom Packaging can help organise the available print space, but the brand or its regulatory adviser remains responsible for confirming the accuracy and completeness of the required product information.
An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. Final recyclability depends on the full material and finishing specification and the facilities available locally.
An ice cream pack is often several materials at once: a carton, a tub, a lid, sometimes a wrapper. The carton is frequently the only paper component. So what a customer can do with it at the end is a question about one part of the pack, not about all of it.
Design support is free. A digital 3D mock-up is free. There are no setup fees.
One cone in the hand is a different product, covered on Ice Cream Cone Sleeves. For dessert packaging that is not tied to one product, Dessert Packaging Boxes takes the general position. A heavier construction is covered on Rigid Food Packaging. The full catalogue sits at Custom Food Boxes.

It depends on the specification, and both versions of this product exist. Tell us what is going inside, be it a sealed tub, a wrapped cone or the food itself, and the material gets confirmed for the contact it actually has.
Yes. Inserts are cut to the product's own dimensions, so movement inside the box is controlled. An insert holds position and does nothing about temperature.
Orders start from 100 units. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free.
