A noodle box has one job most takeaway packaging doesn’t: keep something hot, wet and saucy warm with no separate lid to fasten down. The fold-top does that with locking flaps instead, and unlike a crispy or fried food, noodles actually benefit from the warmth and moisture a sealed top holds in.
The fold-top seal
Locking flaps fold down and interlock without a separate lid piece, which is what lets the box go from flat to filled quickly during service. That fold reduces the risk of sauce or broth escaping in transit, though it isn’t a guarantee against a genuine spill if the box gets tipped over.
Why trapped warmth actually helps here
Noodles arrive from the kitchen already hot and wet, so the priority is holding onto that rather than letting it escape through a vent hole. Keeping the top fully sealed holds the warmth and a little moisture in, which does more for a bowl of noodles than a vent ever would, since there’s no crisp texture here for trapped steam to ruin the way it would on a fried or battered item.
Sizing it to how much you’re serving
Single portions for a lunch order and a sharing size for a family meal both use the same fold-top structure; only the footprint and how many noodles fit change between them. Tell us roughly how much you’re packing per box and we can work out a size that holds it properly without leaving too much empty space.
Your branding, printed on the classic pail shape
The red-and-white pagoda print is the pattern most people picture, but that’s a design choice rather than something built into the box itself. Printing the same fold-top shape in your own branding is the actual point of ordering it personalised.
When this isn’t the right format
Dry stir-fry or anything that needs to stay crisp gets no benefit from a sealed fold-top, and a vented container suits it better. This format earns its keep specifically for wet, saucy or broth-adjacent food where holding onto warmth and moisture is the goal.
The compliance basics
Board and coating can be selected to suit direct or indirect food contact depending on the specification. Food-contact material suitability is confirmed for the specific material before production. Allergen and nutritional labelling stays your business’s responsibility.
Placing the order
Orders start from 100 units. Design support is free. A digital 3D mock-up is free, so you can see the fold-top and print before anything goes to production. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free. There are no setup fees. An unlaminated paperboard construction may be easier to process through suitable paper-recycling streams than a heavily laminated alternative. A coated interior, needed for anything wet or saucy, can make the board harder for some facilities to recycle as standard paper waste, so check what your local collection accepts.

ACP UK is amazing! I am so happy to have found them. I have been working with Daniel, our customer service representative, for about 6 months and he has been amazing. Does the fold-top box come with a separate lid?
No, the top folds down and locks into itself, which is the standard closure for this format. There's nothing extra to fit or lose.
Will sauce or broth leak out?
The fold-top seal and a suitable coating lower the risk, but neither can promise zero leakage if the box is genuinely knocked over. Tell us what you're packing and we can talk through the right coating.
Should this have a vent hole, like other takeaway boxes?
No. A vent would let out exactly what this box is built to hold onto. If you're packing something dry that needs to stay crisp, a vented container is the better fit instead.
What is the minimum order for noodle boxes?
Orders start from 100 units. Standard production takes 6 to 8 business days after approval. UK delivery is free.
Do I have to use the traditional red pagoda design?
No. Ordering it personalised means your own logo and colours go on the fold-top box instead; the traditional look isn't part of the format itself, just a common default across the wider market.
